Leading companies

The 30 enterprises awarded for the first Gold Brand Award in Ho Chi Minh City are the leading enterprises or at the top in the manufacturing and trading industry. The total revenue in 2019 of these 30 enterprises reached VND252,792 billion, equivalent to 21.8% of the total revenue of retail sales of consumer goods and services in 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City.Total profit after tax of 30 companies reached VND32,670 billion. According to the evaluation of the voting council, most of the product and service brands of the winning companies have undergone a long process of formation and development and have established a firm position in the marketplace with recognition anda high reputation in the minds of customers and making positive contributions to the economic development of the city.

Appreciating the awarded brands, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong said that this is the first time Ho Chi Minh City held this award ceremony to honor product brands and at the same time, create motivation to encourage businesses to accumulate, raiseinnovation, creativity, developing sustainable brands, contributing to enhancing the competitive advantage of the brand's products in domestic and international markets.

Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong hopes that the honored brands will be the leading firms, strong enough to lead other brands to develop and affirm their prestige in the market. In the international arena, with pride that these brands come from Ho Chi Minh City, the leading economic hub of the country.

According to Mr. Tran Minh Hung, Editor-in-Chief of the Saigon Economic Times group, Chairman of the Council of Voting, a particularly remarkable point is that businesses are not only interested in business goals, but also development factors. The community is placed in a very important position, reflected through factors such as good business performance to make better contributions to the economy and society; develop well and have a clear development strategy to not only contribute more to the budget but also create more jobs for society; pay adequate attention to the life of employees and to development opportunities.

Export expectation from gold brands

Representing the dairy industry, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) was awarded the Gold Brand Award. In 2020, overcoming the great challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Vinamilk has shown great efforts in international business. Some prominent events of Vinamilk in the past year include the successful signing of a contract to export baby-powdered milk worth US$20 million to the Middle East at the beginning of 2020.

As the first dairy enterprise in Vietnam to be given dairy export permits to the EAEU countries (Eurasian Economic Union) and continuously recorded positive news on exports to countries such as Korea, China, Singapore and many countries in Southeast Asia.

With those efforts, Vinamilk's international business revenue in 2020 will reach over US$240 million, an increase of over 8% compared to 2019, higher than the 5.1% growth rate of the national export sector.

In the field of food, the brand of Saigon Food Joint Stock Company is also well known to domestic and foreign consumers. Each year, Saigon Food supplies to the market more than 20,000 tons of finished products. Regarding exports, Saigon Food provides more than 50 high-class frozen products for the fastidious Japanese market. Most recently, in August 2020, the product mizoreniSaba fish produced by Saigon Food was voted the Top 2 most popular products in Japan in the program "60th Anniversary Coop products 2020”. In the domestic market, Saigon Food is famous for its processed products such as frozen foods, fresh porridge for all ages and recently the fresh meal industry.

In addition, there are also a series of Gold Trademarks, which have great export potential, such as Southern Sao Su JSC currently exports its products to 18 major markets; Acecook Vietnam exports to more than 50 markets; Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Company, exporting products to more than 30 markets.
