Discovery of many gun-shaped accessories and products inside 97 parcels sent via express delivery

VCN – On May 6, the Customs Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department) worked with Hanoi Express Customs Branch, Soc Son District Police to inspect 97 parcels transported via express delivery service. The initial result showed there were many gun-shaped accessories and products.

Specifically, 97 packages weighing 49.3 kg were gathered at the cargo warehouse of the North International Post Sorting Centre. During the implementation of procedures, the customs force discovered many suspicious signs in the packages.

A representative of the Customs Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department) said that the above packages belonged to three independent transport declarations. The shipment was transported from Hong Kong to HCM City via express delivery service. Then, it was delivered from the South International Post Sorting Centre to the North International Post Sorting Centre for carrying out shipping procedures to be sent to the UK.

"However, through the inspection and screening, the Customs force promptly discovered suspicious signs in the packages,” the representative said.

Through initial inspections, competent forces discovered eight gun-shaped products and a lot of gun assembly accessories.

Customs Newspaper will continue to provide information about the inspection and handling process of the shipment.
