Customs seizes 24 tons of Japanese goods

On November 2, 2021, Vietnam Laos HQN Logistics Co., Ltd (in Da Nang) opened a declaration under the regime of transit to transport goods from Tien Sa port (Da Nang) to Lao Bao International Border Gate (Quang Tri).

Goods were declared as cosmetics and masks, with a total weight of 24 tons and Japanese origin.

Through analyzing and evaluating the shipment, Team 2 detected suspicious signs and coordinated with the Lao Bao International Border Gate Customs Branch (Quang Tri Customs Department) to inspect the shipment.

The inspection results showed that there weren’t 44 items including cosmetics, food, and electronic products with Japanese origin as per the declaration in the container. In fact, only cartons, foam boxes and flower jars, incense bowls were in the container.

This is a large-scale smuggling ring with sophisticated tricks. Currently, Team 2 is investigating to handle the case.
