On November 11, the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) issued a decision on administrative sanction for Minh Thien Trading Co., Ltd., with a fine of VND165 million, and forced the company to re-export 12 infringing goods valued at VND3.2 billion.
Earlier, GDVC requested the 3rd Hai Phong Customs Branch (under Hai Phong Customs Department) to conduct a physical inspection for the company (with registered business address in Tay Ho, Hanoi).
The 3rd Hai Phong Customs Branch implemented the inspection for the shipment and detected 12 out of 14 items showing suspicious signs on infringing goods origin and label.
The Branch has transferred the case to the Hai Phong Customs Enforcement Team to identify and send it to the local government for handling.
Notably, before the company imported this shipment, the local customs had detected violations in importing goods with fake labels and packaging, and had proposed the local government fine the company VND160 million.
Minh Thien Trading Co., Ltd., established in 2003, imports lock products and locks and accessories from China to Vietnam, distributes them through agents in Hanoi and advertises products on the website with imported products bearing brands such as NIKEN, KOFFMANN, KOLER, KOSPI, which are German and Korean lock brands.
