Customs coordinates to seize 20kg of suspected drugs

VCN - 20 kg of suspected synthetic drugs transported from Dong Thap to HCM City were seized by the working group, including the HCM City Border Defence ForceHCM City Police and the Southern Customs Marine Enforcement Fleet (Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department - General Department of Vietnam Customs).

On the morning of June 8, at the intersection of Vo Van Kiet and An Duong Vuong, in Quarter 4, An Lac Ward, Binh Tan District, HCM City, through monitoring, the working group discovered a white car with the license plate No. 66A-12219 moving in the direction from Long An province to HCM City showing suspicious signs, so they stopped to inspect it. Then the car was brought to police station of An Lac ward, Binh Tan district to conduct a physical inspection.

The forces identified that the car was driven by Nguyen Ngoc Long (born in 1987, residing in An Loc ward, Hong Ngu city, Dong Thap province) and carrying Vo Van Hung (born in 1982, a Cambodian, currently residing in Hamlet 1, Thuong Phuoc Commune, Hong Ngu City, Dong Thap Province).

Through inspection, the force discovered in the trunk of the car, there was a bag containing mangoes on top and 20 plastic bags looking like a teabag in the bottom. The total weight is about 20kg, suspected of containing synthetic drugs.

Initially, Vo Van Hung confessed that they were discovered and arrested when transporting the above goods from Dong Thap to HCM City. The case is currently being investigated and clarified by authorities.
