VCN - Regarding the import of medicines and medicinal ingredients, the General Department of Vietnam Customs continues to issue a request document to local customs units to guide firms on declaring shipment information.

Pursuant to Article 18 of Circular No. 38/2015/TT-BTC dated March 25, 2015 (amended and supplemented in Clause 1 of Circular No. 39/2018/TT BTC dated April 20, 2018) of the Ministry of Finance, firms have to declare the information “Lot. No (production lot number)” at the box of goods description.
In case of a need to conduct detailed examination of documents, customs official must check the lot number in accordance with the certificate of medicines and medicinal ingredients testing. In case of physical inspection, the customs official must check the lot number to see if it matches the certificate of medicines and medicinal ingredients testing and the original label of the product.
