At 4 pm on May 11, the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes (C04), Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department led and coordinated with the Special Police Battalion 2 under Mobile Police Command, Team 6- the Anti-smuggling and Investigation (the General Department of Vietnam Customs) and other competent forces to destroy a huge drug smuggling case and seized nearly 500 kg ketamine, one car and four pill pressingmachines.

Competent forces arrested Jhu Minh Jyun, born in 1987, a Taiwanese man, and seized 500 kg of Ketamine, one Innova car and four pill pressingmachines at a warehouse at BinhChanh District rented by this man.

The Special Planning Board arrested suspects including Liu Ming Yang (Taiwan nationality – China), residing in Ta Binh who is thought to be the head of the gang; Nguyen Thi Thu Van (Taiwan nationality – China), residing in Tan Phu who is his girlfriend and translator, and To Gia My (Chinese nationality) who is an interpreter and assistant of Jhu Minh Jyun.

Previously, on May 10, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department-the head of the Special Planning Board directed the Drug Enforcement Team to divide into five teams, prepare three plans and coordinate with the Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes to arrest suspects and take these drugs.

This is a special case which has been monitored for a long time by Investigation Police Department on Drug-related Crimes, Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department. Especially, it was paid attention of leaders of Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Finance, the General Department of Vietnam Customs and other relevant units to prevent transnational crime organisations headed by foreign suspects trafficking drugs into Vietnam with a large quantity to transport to third country for consumption with many sophisticated tricks.
