Cao Anh Tuan appointed as Director General of Vietnam Taxation

Speaking at the ceremony of giving appointment decision, the minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung said that, on June 13, the Ministry of Finance had issued Decision No. 1016/QĐ-BTC on the appointment of Cao Anh Tuan – Deputy Director General of Taxation to hold the position of Director General of Vietnam Taxation on July 1st.

The Minister said he had faith that Tuan would continue to promote the success of Taxation, promoting his professional abilities and experience together with all leaders of General Department of Taxation and tax officials to become stronger.

“With the achievements of the tax sector, especially the results achieved in the administration of tax management, it showed the stability in the development of tax sector as well as the spirit of the union and consensus of the whole tax sector. Therefore, inheriting and promoting the good traditions of leadership generations of the General Department of Taxation, it was an honor and also a very heavy responsibility for Tuan,” Minister Dung emphasised.

At the ceremony, the minister also suggested that Tuan and the leaders of the General Department of Taxation focus on the construction of solidarity to stabilise and develop the General Department of Taxation, preserve and promote the traditions of the sector, striving to complete the assigned tasks; strengthen discipline and improve the sense of responsibility of tax officials in fighting corruption and wastefulness.

Besides that, the tax sector needed to focus on managing the revenue collection and prevention loss of revenue to complete 5% of the State budget collection task in 2019 that was approved by the National Assembly. The Government and the Ministry of Finance assigned 1,168,100 billionVND, of that crude oil was 44,600 billion VND and domestic revenue was 1,123,500 billionVND.

The Minister also asked the General Department of Taxation to implement tasks and solutions in accordance with Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP dated January 1, 2019 of the Government on socio-economic development plans and State budget estimation for 2019 and directives of the Ministry; implement solutions to encourage innovation, start-ups, business development and promote economic growth.

Besides that, the General Department of Taxation should accelerate reforming the tax system for 2016-2020 that was approved by the Minister of Finance; continue to review and reform tax administrative procedures in accordance with requirements of Resolution No. 02/NQ-CP dated January 1, 2019 of the Government on continuing to perform the main tasks and solutions to improve the business environment, improve national competitiveness in 2019 and orientation to 2021; modernising and promoting the application of IT in all areas in tax management.

The minister also said the tax sector must focus on promoting training and building a staffs and leaders; giving directives and performing better the personnel organisation, rotation, change the position and streamline the operational apparatus effectively according to the requirements of the Party, the State and the Personnel Committee of the Party and Leaders of the Ministry of Finance.

"With that spirit, I believe and firmly believe that Cao Anh Tuan will put great effort together with the tax sector in promoting the results, strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, successfully completed the assigned political tasks,” the Minister shared.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tuan said that this was an honour and a great responsibility that the leaders of the Ministry of Finance have entrusted. He affirmed that he would receive all the instructions of the Minister and strive to fulfill the task.

“In the new position, as the leader of the tax sector, I would like to study and inherit the precious experiences of the predecessors, bring all my strength and promote the high spirit of solidarity in collective leaders of the General Department of Taxation, constantly innovating the professional operations in associated with modernising the office, contributing to improve quality and tax management efficiently," Tuan said
