Cannabis hidden in secret bulkhead of container at Hai Phong

At 14:30 on December 21, at Dinh Vu Industrial Park, Hai Phong (a depot yard not under the supervision area of the customs authority), the Hai Phong Customs Enforcement Team coordinated with the Drug-related Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04), the Economic Police Department (PC03) Hai Phong City Police Department to examine a container (the container was returned to the yard after taking the goods).

Containers used to contain raw materials for the production of animal feed for pigs and poultry that were imported by Company T on December 12, 2020 (shipment arrived at Hai Phong port on December 11, 2020).

After the goods were taken out, the container was transported to the location of the partner yard - Dinh Vu Industrial Park.

Here, the competent authorities discovered and seized 579.7kg of cannabis resin.

Notably, the trick of concealing the above cannabis was very sophisticated when placed in a secretly reinforced bulkhead at the end of the container with a width of about 30cm, then camouflaged by a partition wall.

In the secret bulkhead, the cannabis resin was packed in small bags covered with nylon and paper with many layers, coated with toothpaste powder and packed into bags (over 12kg/bag).

This was one of the largest seizures of drug in Hai Phong.

The case is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
