Increased more than 12%

According to Vietnam Airlines, the number of passengers and domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines in recent weeks has continuously grown. On September 21, Vietnam Airlines recorded domestic passenger flight volume reaching nearly 40,000passengers, an increase of more than 12% over the same period in 2019.

The growth marks an impressive recovery for Vietnam Airlines in the context of the second Covid-19 wavein Vietnam that has been controlled. This result is obtained from the efforts to optimize the domestic flight network, increase the efficient operation of the fleet, reopen and increase frequency on many routes, carry out a series of promotion activities, promotion programsto stimulate demand, ensure service quality while still ensuring disease prevention of Vietnam Airlines.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines is exploiting the domestic flight network including more than 40 routes, with an average of nearly 200 flights per day. Facing the positive developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, this airline has increased the frequency on eight domestic routes between Hanoi and Vinh, Quy Nhon, Da Nang, TuyHoa, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Pleiku; between Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

In early September, Vietnam Airlines restored six domestic routes, including between Hanoi - Chu Lai, TuyHoa, between Vinh - Buon Ma Thuot and between Hai Phong - Dien Bien.

Restore as before pandemic

Not only Vietnam Airlines, but also other airlines such as Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways, have restored domestic routes in recent years.

In addition to increasing the frequency of operations from Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City to four round trips / day and Da Nang - Hanoi to three round trips / day before continuing to increase to 7-10 round trips / day for two for the main axis flight since October, Vietjet Air also restored Da Nang - Hai Phong routes with a frequency of one round-trip / day; Da Nang - Da Lat with five round trips / week; Da Nang - Buon Ma Thuot, Da Nang - Can Tho and Da Nang - Nha Trang with four round trips / week.

The domestic routes were also re-operated by Pacific Airlines after a short period of suspension due to the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Most airlines have fully restored their domestic routes. Domestic flights were strengthened to meet the increasing travel demand of the population amid a well-controlled Covid-19 pandemicand a rapidly recovering domestic aviation market. With the growth of the domestic market and the resumption of some international routes, it is expected that the total passenger volume of the entire network of airlines will soon recover equal to and exceed the same period in the near future.
