VCN - On the morning of June 26, 2017, talking with a Customs newspaper reporter, the leader of Chieng Khuong Border Customs Branch (the Dien Bien Customs Department) confirmed that the Branch has collaborated in seizing 1.2 kg of opium resin.

On June 24, 2017, the working team including Drugs and Crime Prevention Division, the Son La Border Patrol in collaboration with the Chieng Khuong Border Gate Station and the Chieng Khuong Border Customs Branch caught a perpetrator for illegal drug possession. Through investigation, the perpetrator confessed to being Mua A Po, born in 1794 (residing at Tong Chinh village, Phieng Cam commune, Mai Son district, Son La province) and 6 clots of opium resin weighed 1,177.48g were seized.

Currently, the perpetrator Mua A Po and the exhibits have been transferred to a competent authority for further settlement according to the regulations.
