Arrest of person transporting 9,800 tablets of synthetic drugs

VCN – According to Ha Tinh Customs Department, the unit coordinated with Border Defence forces and Ha Tinh Maret Management Department to arrest a person while he was transporting 9,800 tablets of synthetic drugs from Laos to Vietnam.

At 7:30 AM, on December 12, at immigration area of Cau Treo International Border Gate, the Border Defense force worked with Cau Treo Customs Branch and Ha Tinh Maret Management Department to seize Vu Van Quy (born in 1993, living in Vien Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh districts, Nghe An province) while he was in a passenger car with license plate UN 4555 running the Vientiane - Hanoi route due to the illegal act of transporting narcotics.

Through inspection, forces discovered the bag of Vu Van Quy contained 49 blue plastic packs, inside containing 9,800 tablets of ecstasy (synthetic drugs).

At the headquarters of competent authorities, Vu Van Quy initially claimed he had transported the drugs from Laos to Vietnam for delivery to a person in Nghe An.

Currently, the competent force is continuing to expand the investigation .
