Arrest a Cambodian subject transporting drugs to Vietnam

According to Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch (Tay Ninh Customs Department) said that, at 7:00 PM, on April 2, 2024, at milestone 171 - Moc Bai international border gate area in Thuan Tay hamlet, Loi Thuan commune, Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province, Ben Cau district police coordinated with Moc Bai international border gate border station, drug-related crime investigation police department - Tay Ninh province police, Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch caught CHAN SAROM (Cambodian nationality) while he was illegally transporting drugs.

Through inspection of a two-wheeled motorbike with license plate number 70C1-092.23 driven by CHAN SAROM, the authorities discovered that underneath the barga above the frame contained 3 plastic wraps wrapped with tape on the outside and inside contained solid crystalline substances (suspected to be drugs). The quick test results showed that the substance contained in 3 plastic bags was suspected to be drugs weighing 2.04kg.

Working with the authorities, subject CHAN SAROM admitted that at about 6:50 p.m. on April 2, 2024, while waiting for customers (motorbike taxi driver) in front of Casino King Crown - Cambodia, there was a Vietnamese male about 50 years old, driving a 2-wheeled motorbike with license plate number 70C1-092.23, he came to hire CHAN SAROM to drive this vehicle to Huu Nghi intersection (Thuan Tay hamlet, Loi Thuan commune, Ben Cau district, Tay province). Ninh) delivered to a person for a shipping fee of VND400,000.

CHAN SAROM said that when delivering the car, the Vietnamese man did not say anything about there being prohibited goods or drugs hidden in the motorbike. Therefore, the subject received payment and drove the motorbike through Moc Bai border gate. When he arrived at milestone 171 - Moc Bai international border gate area in Thuan Tay hamlet, Loi Thuan commune, Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province, he was discovered and arrested by the authorities.

The authorities have made a record to arrest the offender and continue to investigate and handle under the law.
