Competent forces inspected motorboat transporting smuggled pigs

According to Vinh Xuong Customs Branch, early on May 12, the unit coordinated with Customs Enforcement Unit (An Giang Customs Department) and the Border Post of Vinh Xuong International Border Gate to spring an ambush on the Tien River at the border area under (Halmet 1, Vinh Xuong Ward, Tan Chau Town, An Giang Province).

When detecting a motorboat going from Cambodia to Vietnam, the working group gave a signal requesting the vehicle to stop for inspection. However, the vehicle operator did not stop and sped up to run inland into Vietnam.

Taking advantage of dark night to smuggle pigs from Cambodia to Vietnam

The forces immediately chased, when moving near the Vinh Xuong - Thuong Phuoc ferry, the people on the motorboat jumped over the other small motorboat (used to track the road) to speed up and turned around to flee to Cambodia, leaving a motorboat which was transporting 30 pigs (more than 3 tonnes)

Earlier, at midnight of May 11, Vinh Xuong Customs Branch coordinated with the Customs Enforcement Team, Personnel and Inspectorate Division of An Giang Customs Department and Border Post of Vinh Xuong International Border Gate to patrol and control on the Tien River in the border area of ​​Hamlet 5, Vinh Xuong Commune, Tan Chau Town, An Giang Province and discovered and seized a motorboat carrying 18 pigs (above 1.6 tonnes) smuggled from Cambodia to Vietnam; on 8/5, Vinh Xuong Customs seized more than 1 tonne of smuggled pigs.
