The Task team include: Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch, the Drug Enforcement Unit-Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, the Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department-the General Department of Customs, theAviation Security Center, the Police of Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the Police Division of Drugs investigation (PC47)- Ho Chi Minh City Police, the Police Department of Drugs investigation (C47B) and the Police Department of Smuggling Investigation (C74B)- the Ministry of Public Security co-operated for inspecting of the 37 years old Vietnamese Australian women who was transporting a hug amount of heroine from Vietnam to Australia.
The Customs and functional force found that 14 bars of heroin were split into 26 small bars hidden carefully in her baggage. Total weight of drugs is nearly 5kg.
According to the initial statement of the women that she would be paid US $25,000 for transporting the drugs as above. The estimated value of the smuggled heroine to be as high as $750,000 (equivalent to 16.5 billion VND) once it could reach to Australia.
The functional forces are investigating further to clarify the ring, dens and arrested on time the relevant persons to strictly treating in accordance with provisions of the law.
In the first six months of 2016, the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch has found and arrested 1.1 tons of stimulant leavesKhat which containing cathinone from Africa to Vietnam, nearly 15 kg of cocaine, heroine and methamphetamine illegal transporting by air.
