VCN- A great number of smuggled iPhone and iPad by express was seized by the Customs Control Team and the Customs Branch of Express Cargo (under the HCM City Customs Department) on 24th August 2017.

119 iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 Plus mobile phones.

These shipments were imported from the United States in the form of non-tradable express mail. The consignee was an individual who resided at Ton That Tung Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the investigation, this shipment was conducted Customs clearance through a Customs agent. The declaration was made on 22nd August 2017. On Customs declaration, there were imported computer mice and computer keyboards, worth over 2.8 million, with the amount of payable tax of over 280,000 VND.

From the information of the Customs Control Team, it was found that there was suspicion of contraband, so the Customs Control Team had actively communicated with the Customs Branch of Express Cargo to coordinate and conduct physical inspections.

The results of the inspections showed that there were 119 iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 Plus mobile phones (41 of them were used on the list of banned imports) and 19 iPads, new 100%. The value of the shipment has not been determined.
