According to preliminary statistics announced by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in December 2023, the Vietnam imported 7,650 CBU cars, with the import turnover of US$175.3 million, an increase of 1.9% in volume but a decrease of 9.1% in turnover compared to the previous month.

For the whole year 2023, the country imported 118,942 CBU cars, with the import turnover of US$2.83 billion, a sharp decrease of 31.5% in volume and a decrease of 26.3% in turnover compared to 2022.

Vietnam imported 53,942 CBU cars from Thailand with the import turnover of US$ 1.14 billion, accounting for 45.35% in volume and 40.46% in import turnover of the whole country.

The country imported 42,676 cars from Indonesia with the import turnover of US$607.55 million, accounting for 35.88% in volume and 21.47% in the total import turnover of CBU cars of the whole country.

The country imported 11,002 cars from China with the import turnover of US$394.2 million, accounting for 9.25% in volume and 13.93% in total car import turnover of the whole country.

The total number of CBU cars imported from three Asia markets account for 90.48% of the country's total imported cars in 2023.

In 2022, the country recorded numbers of car imports with 173,740 cars, a turnover of US$3.84 billion, an increase of 8.7% in volume and 5.3% in turnover compared to 2021.
