Vietnam-Indonesia trade achieves about US$ 14 billion

According to the lastest statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC), in 2023, Vietnam’s exports to Indonesia recored over US$5 billion. 14 comodity groups reached the import turnover of US$100 milion or more.
Rice exports to Indonesia reached 1.16 tons with the import tunrover of US$640 million.
Export tunover of major exported comodity groups includes Iron and steel at US$ 483 million; machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts at about US$380 million; mobile phones and components at US$368 million.
The import turnover from Indonesia in 2023 earned US$8.73 billion.
Coal is the largest import product with the import turnover of over 2 US$ billion; iron and steel with a turnover of more than US$ 1.1 billion. These are two groups of imported goods from the Indonesian market with a turnover of billions of dollars.
Other imported commodity groups with a turnover of over US$100 million include: animal and vegetable oils at US$682 million, CBU cars at USS$ 607.5 million, paper of at US$282.8 million.
The statistical data shows that the structure of import and export goods between the two other countries is diverse.
With a turnover of nearly US$14 billion in the last year, Indonesia is the country's leading trading partner in Southeast Asia. Vietnam has a trade deficit with Indonesia of US$3.73 billion.
