Currently, Customs has 74 administrative procedures providing online public services with the highest level (level 4) in Vietnam. Thereby, they help enterprises perform administrative procedures on the internet such as the clearance of imported and exported goods; taxes, charges, fees, and procedures for vehicles.

Specifically, the electronic portal of Customs has provided many online public services in the process of Customs procedures, such as: tariff lookup, printing bar code list, information lookup of debt tax, registration for companies using digital signatures, etc. Along with that, the electronic portals of local Customs Departments are also connected to the electronic portals of local Provincal People’s Committees, actively contributing to the work of administration reform of the provinces and cities.

In addition, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has been providing supporting services for enterprises, such as consultation through the telephone centre of the General Department of Vietnam Customs; National Single Window administrative office at the General Department of Vietnam Customs; consulting teams at the local Customs Departments and Customs Branches; consulting divisions at the sites of implementation of Customs procedures; a Dialogue conference organized by Customs authorities; and training courses held by Customs agencies and departments.

In order to accomplish this goal, the General Department of Vietnam Customs is now conducting a survey to assess the level of satisfaction with the public services supporting businesses of Customs authorities. The opinions of enterprises have also focused on the provisions of Customs laws which have changed the management practices and methods of operations in recent years, contributing to help Customs’ operations to be effective in practice. In addition, these opinions have emphasized the level of simplification of Customs dossier and Customs clearance procedures; and the satisfaction of stakeholders for the settlement of enterprises’ problems in the process of import-export procedures.

According to the Customs Administration Reform and Modernization Department (the General Department of Vietnam Customs), this is an opportunity for businesses to reflect and raise their voices in the process of implementing Customs procedures for exported and imported goods. Thereby, Customs also hope that the business community will present their ideas, feedback, recommendations on the matters which they desire Customs authorities and other relevant agencies to carry out in the near future.
