Two more enterprises are recognized as AEO

VCN – The Director General of Vietnam Customs Nguyen Van Can signed the decisions of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) recognition for San Fang Co., Ltd., and Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam Inc.

The recognition of AEO and the application of AEO for these two enterprises shall be carried out in accordance with Circular No. 72/2015/TTBTC dated 12/5/2015 of the Ministry of Finance.

Accordingly, the time limit for the application of the priority regime for these enterprises is 3 years from 20/3/2019. After this time limit, if enterprises meet the prescribed conditions, the priority regime will continue to be applied.

According to the statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, by the end of February 2019, there were 66 enterprises recognized as AEOs, including 53 import-export enterprises, 2 agricultural product export enterprises, 10 seafood export enterprises, and 1 high-tech enterprise and non-geographic enterprise engaged in AEO programs.

Particularly in 2018, AEOs accounted for 34.4% of the total import-export turnover nationwide ($US 165 billion).
