At the Government’s press conference on 2nd April 2018, answering the press about encouragement of enterprises to list on the stock market, Deputy Minister of Finance said that the stock market tends to develop well.
Accordingly, the VN Index has increased about 19% compared to the same previous month, the market capitalization increased about 17% compared to the end of 2017. The market capitalization reached 82% of GDP, not including bonds. 741 shares and fund certificates are listed on the stock market in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, 723 shares are registered as transacting. Thereby, the indexes continuously increased, surpassing the peak of 2017.
Therefore, in order to promote enterprises to list on the stock market, contributing to developing stock market, Ministry of Finance has directed and taken many measures. In which, Ministry of Finance has amended and submitted the revised Law on Securities to the Government. This is the legal framework to evaluate, summarize and facilitate for further development of the stock market.
In addition, Mrs. Mai said that Ministry of Finance publicized over 700 enterprises which were equitized but have not listed their shares on the stock market. After publicizing, more than a half of them have been listed, the remaining enterprises are preparing procedures to list.

“State enterprises have taken measures to promote the equitization and divestment to supply the market. Hence, the stock market has developed diversely, creating motivation for the divestment” Mrs. Mai said.
Particularly, together with taking measures to encourage and urge, the Ministry of Finance also inspects and supervises, as well as handling violation case strictly, and helping the market develop transparently and sustainably.
