Taking advantage of alternate channels to import banned goods

Import procedures for the above shipment were requested by Thien Phat Sai Gon Trading Co. On the customs declaration, the company declared that the goods were used machinery, made in Japan. The shipment was classified to the yellow channel.
Through research, they discovered that the items were declared too general, and flagged a risk, so the Customs Branch of Saigon port area 1transferred the shipment to the red channel for physical inspectation.
As a result, apart from imported machinery as declared by the company, the customs officers also found 19 motorcycles of all types, which cannot be imported.
Earlier, PC46 teams in coordination with the Customs control force of HCMC Customs Department, Customs Branch of Saigon port area 1 examined a shipment through customs clearance yellow channel , and found that the goods in the containers were electronics, and refrigeration.

To smuggle the goods, during customs declarations the company declared items of kaolin, made in Japan, thus the shipment should be streamlined system Gold.
According to the journalists’ research, enterprises were granted a tax code on 13th July operational from 15thJuly 2016. With business information procedures for the first time, import goods declaration is not subject to specialized management so it would be in risk warning.
