Strengthen the applications of coercive measures to collect tax debt
The Tax Authority applies appropriate debt collection measures to each case of tax debt, avoiding creating new debt. |
Accordingly, the General Department of Taxation requests the Directors of Tax Departments of provinces and centrally-run cities to focus on directing and fully implementing debt management and enforcement measures to collect tax debt according to the Official Dispatch. No. 270/TCT-QLN dated January 22, 2024 of the General Department of Taxation.
In the first quarter of 2024, the units focus on reviewing cases of abandonment of business addresses (especially paying attention to cases showing signs of violations of tax law, and suspected invoice trading) to apply coercive measures and consider issuing a notice of suspension of departure for legal representatives following regulations.
Previously, at the online conference on tax debt enforcement organized by General Department of Taxation on January 30, 2024, Deputy Director General of Taxation Dang Ngoc Minh said that in 2024, the tax departments were directed to fully implement tax debt enforcement measures for taxpayers in cases where coercive measures must be applied.
