Seizing a shipment of supplementary foods imported from China
Customs authority examined the shipment of supplementary foods |
This shipment was imported under non-commercial model (gifts and donations) across Phuoc Long port, Thu Duc. Name of the importer of this shipment is a young man, living in District 4, HCMC.
According to the Customs declaration, the imported goods are odorless candles, originated from China, weighed 815 kgs and valued at 815 USD and used in pagodas with total import duty and VAT of nearly 6 million VND.
Discovering suspicious signs of this shipment, the Customs control team has issued a decision on examination. As result, there were not any candles in the containers but supplementary foods brand Pure Series Bulk Powders in power and tablet form without origin on the packs.
According to the Customs control team, the above supplementary foods are used for sports players to maintain muscle and sold in the market with a high price, around 800,000 – 900,000 VND/kg.
Therefore, the importer has made fraudulent declarations to avoid applying for import permits or evade tax.
Presently, the shipment was verified for handling in accordance with the law.
Each pack of supplementary foods is weighed from 3 – 5 kgs
All packs are in carton without origin
