According to Customs Enforcement Team (Under Hanoi Customs Department), the shipment includes 10 cigar cartons under Bill of lading No. 810-64683334 transported from Dominica to Noi Bai International Airport on 20 May 2018 on flight CI0791 of China Airlines.
The consigner declared on the Bill of lading is ABEJA CIGARS, S.R.L. CANCA LA PIEDRA, TAMBORIL SANTIAGO, REP. DOM. SANTIAGO, DO, SANTIAGO RD. The consignee declared on the Bill of lading is LAO CAI HONGHE IMPORT AND EXPORT CO., LTD., No.397 KHANH YEN ROAD PHO MOI, LAO CAI PROVINCE, V. When conducting the verification, the consignee refused to receive the shipment.
On 27 February 2019, Customs Enforcement Team (Hanoi Customs Department), Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch coordinated with the representatives of Noi Bai Cargo Terminal Services Joint Stock Company and China Airlines in Vietnam to conduct a physical inspection for 10 cigar cartons .
Through the inspection, the competent forces detected that these cartons contained cigars Juliany Cigar brand with a total of 10,000 sticks.
After the physical inspection, the Customs Enforcement Team (under Ha Noi Customs Department) issued a decision on temporary seizure for the shipment for continuing the investigation, verification and handling in accordance with the law.
