More than 1,300 businesses from 21 countries and territories are participating in the Vietnam Textile & Garment Industry Expo (Saigontex) 2023, the leading exhibition of the industry in Southeast Asia, which opened in Ho Chi Minh City on April 5.

Saigontex 2023 has the largest scale since 1991, with nearly 2,000 booths. For the first time, a separate "dye, yarn and chemicals" display area has been designed with the engagement of 75 international suppliers.

On display are a variety of advanced technology solutions to open a new era of sustainability for the textile industry. Saigontex 2023 is a good opportunity for the Vietnamese textile and garment business community to seek partners, access modern technologies, and catch up with the current trend of the global textile industry.

During the four-day event, a thematic conference will also be held to update the world economic situation and the garment and textile market.

Opening the function, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang said that the exhibition is expected to provide a good chance for businesses to seek partners and suppliers, promoting their trade network and engaging deeper into the global supply chain.

She advised the sector to focus on developing complete large-scale textile and garment production chains and promoting green production, while actively seeking appropriate development directions, ensuring the long-term goal of developing the industry in a sustainable way./.
