The conference was attended by Mr. Takenari KAJIURA - Second Secretary - Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, Mr. Hironori FUNAHASHI- Vice Chairman of Japan Business Association in Vietnam and businesses under the Association; Mr. Nguyen The Manh, Deputy Director of General Taxation Department cum Director of Hanoi Tax Department and Mr. Mai Son, Deputy Director of Hanoi Tax Department.
This conference is content with Japanese businesses and expresses the cooperation and sharing between Hanoi Tax Department and FDI association in general and Japanese businesses in private in order to create favorable conditions for these enterprises to develop their business and production and enhance to investment attraction.
The conference is a chance for Hanoi Tax Department to provide information on new tax policies, tax administrative procedures and receive and removes obstacles and difficulties in a timely fashion with the purpose of ensuring the legitimate benefits of enterprises. The main obstacles such as tax policies for anti-transfer pricing, associated transactions, contractor tax, tax rate, transfer of trademark and copyright, software, VAT, corporate income tax, personal income tax, special consumption tax, etc. have been satisfactorily answered by the leaders of Taxation Department at the conference were cleared up by the leaders of the Tax Department.
Over the past years, Hanoi Tax Department and Japanese businesses have actively coordinated in information exchange on tax policies and administrative reform at the tax offices. The feedback and comments of representatives from sectors and taxpayers from the Japan Business Association in Vietnam helped tax offices access to accurate information, thereby contributing to increasing the efficiency of propaganda.
Recognizing efforts in administrative reform of the Hanoi Tax Department over the past time, the representative of Japan Business Association in Vietnam affirmed that the Association would continue to collect feedback from enterprises about the difficulties in the implementation of tax policies as well as the behavior of tax officers and civil servants.
The representative of Hanoi Tax Department also emphasized that the conference with the spirit of frankness, inquisitiveness, friendly cooperation will help the two parties well implement the tax policies, thereby significantly contributing to the state budget.

In the FDI sector, Japanese enterprises are highly appreciated in their prestige, administrative ability, and legal compliance. In Hanoi, in recent years, Japanese businesses made significant contributions to the state budget, accounting for nearly 30% of the total budget contribution of FDI businesses. If in 2016, Japanese businesses contributed 4,819 billion to the city’s budget, in the first 6 months of 2017, this number has increased to 2,854 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23%.
