Promulgate process of selecting and inspecting goods via container scanning machines

The process has given specific guidance on the contents of inspecting exported, imported, transited and transshipment goods via container scanning machines includes: fixed container scanning machine and portable container scanning machine dynamic.
Per the process, the place for checking import and export goods using scanning machine is the area determined at a warehouse, yard or port within the operation area of the customs authorties in accordance with provisions of Decree No. 01/2015/ND- is amended and supplemented in Decree 12/2018/ND-CP of the Government, including: Customs clearance locations at import-export ports that are established inland; gathering place, inspection and supervision for import and export goods and locations in port and border gate areas, ensuring radiation safety and flexibility, appropriate with the target of scanning and facilitating enterprises.
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the inspection of import and export goods by scanning machine is a measure to identify suspicions about the homogeneity of the goods, the quantity and types of goods as compared to the declaration and detecting suspicious signs of smuggled goods.
The scanning results are used as one of the basis for implementing cargo clearance or to apply appropriate professional measures of customs.
Besides the above content, the procedure also specifies selection and inspection of goods using container scanning machines.
Decision 1471/QD-TCHQ takes effect from June 15, 2020; replacing Decision 2760/QD-TCHQ dated September 22, 2015 of the General Department of Vietnam Customs promulgating regulation on inspection of import and export goods by scanning machine.
