Preliminary assessment of Vietnam international merchandise trade performance in the second half of July, 2018

​Vietnam‘s trade-in-goods in the first 7 months of 2018 totaled US dollars 266.17 billion in value terms, expanded by 13.5% as compared to the performance of the same period of 2017. In which, the total merchandise exports valued US dollars 134.51 billion, moved up by 16% and the total merchandise imports valued to US dollars 131.66 billion went up by 11.1%.

In the view of Foreign Direct Invested (FDI) traders, the total value of exportation and importation in the first 7 months of 2018 reached USD 172 billion up by 13.3% (equivalent to USD 20.24 billion) as compared to the same period of 2017.

Export:

As compared to the first half of July-2018, second half of the month increase in the total export value (41.5% - USD 3.46 billion equally) is reflected by upturn in telephone, mobile phone and parts thereof (up by 65.4% - USD 939 million equally); computer, electrical products and spare-parts and components thereof (up by 60.7% - USD 568 million equally); textiles and garments (up by 23.2% - USD 297 million equally); foot-wear (up by 31.2% - USD 193 million equally)…
