Mobile phone exports flourish in EU and ASEAN

According to the latest statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the export turnover of mobile phones and components in the first half of August reached US$2.42 billion.

As of August 15, the total turnover of this product reached US$31.16 billion. However, this figure plunged year-on-year.

With a plummet in turnover, mobile phones and components have been lost the position of Vietnam's largest export commodity. The computers, electronic products and components becomes the largest export commodity of the country with the turnover US$33 billion.

The latest statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs shows that by the end of July, the export turnover of the products to China, the US and South Korea declined by 2.9%, 38.9% and 36.9% to US$ 7.19 billion, US$ 4.91 billion and US$ 2.03 billion, respectively.

In the context of difficulties, the group of mobile phones and components increased in the EU and ASEAN markets.

In the first seven months of the year, the export of mobile phones and components to the EU and ASEAN grew 9.1% and 15.3% to US$ 4.15 billion and US$1.38 billion year-on-year, respectively.
