Many businesses enforced for large tax debts

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, the Director of the Investment and Management Customs Branch has just signed an enforcement decision by stopping customs procedures for imported and exported of Tan Hoang Minh Hotel & Trading Service Company Limited (belonging to Tan Hoang Minh Group, address: 16th Floor, Vincom Center Building, 72 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, tax code: 0301002561).

The above enforcement decision was issued at the request of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department.

Tan Hoang Minh Hotel & Trading Service Company Limited owes VND160 billions of domestic tax for more than 90 days from the payment deadline.

The enforcement decision is effective for a period of one year from January 31, 2024. The decision will terminate when the tax debt is fully paid.

According to the reporter, Tan Hoang Minh Hotel Trading and Services Company Limited operates in the fields of consulting, brokerage, auctions of real estate and land use rights.

Previously, the Investment Management Customs Branch also issued an enforcement decision by stopping customs procedures for imported and exported goods of the Transport and Industry Development Investment Joint Stock Company (89 Cach Mang Thang Tam, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City; tax code: 0300482393) to implement the content of official dispatch No. 15667/CTTPHCM dated December 27, 20203 of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department.

According to the enforcement decision, the Transport and Industry Development Investment Joint Stock Company owes over VND30.4 billion for more than 90 days from the expiration date as prescribed. The enforcement decision is valid for one year, from January 24, 2024 and will terminate when the tax debt is fully paid.

Transport and Industry Development Investment Joint Stock Company was established in 1990. In 2017, the company's shares were listed and traded on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE). The company specializes in construction of traffic, irrigation, and civil works; import-export, commercial business; labor export; tourism activities and financial investment activities.

Similarly, due to having 90 day-overdue tax debts of more than VND14.6 billion, Saigon Plastic Joint Stock Company (242 Tran Phu, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) was also enforced by the Investment Management Customs Branch to implement the contents of the dispatch dated 16 January 2024 of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department.

The enforcement measure by stopping customs procedures for import and export goods of Saigon Plastic Joint Stock Company will be implemented for one year, from January 24, 2024 and will terminate when the company completes the tax obligations to the State budget.

Saigon Plastic Joint Stock Company, formerly known as State-owned Plastic Enterprise No. 7, was established in 1989, operating in the field of manufacturing and trading plastic products widely used in the fields of health and transportation, environment, logistics and other fields. The company has officially operated as a joint stock company since 2004.

According to the leader of the Investment Management Customs Branch, the companies are enforced at the request of the tax agencies are mostly related to the real estate sector.

In addition to the above businesses, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department named many businesses with large tax debts such as Truong Thinh Phat Real Estate Investment Joint Stock Company (tax code 0305020360) owes VND83.7 billion VND; AA Architecture Construction Joint Stock Company (tax code 0302166869) and Nhat Hoang Investment Company Limited (tax code 0301770041) owe VND 55.3 billion and VND55 billion, respectively; and Khai Thinh Real Estate Joint Stock Company (tax code 0314831291) owes VND41.5 billion VND.
