These days, Hanoians are enchanted by giant apples imported from Japan at supermarkets on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet).

The imported apples are a lot bigger than the popularly seen ones at the stores. Imported giant apples seem to be one of the most attractive grocery items during this festive season. Unlike other imported apples, the Sekaiichi apples from Japan is sold at a nearly VND500,000 per kilo at Hanoi’s streets.

Several varieties of apples are imported from Japan and are currently flooding the supermarkets in Hanoi at persified prices.

Fuji apples are sold at VND256.000 per kilo.

Kinsei apples are sought by many customers and priced at nearly VND300,000 per kilo

These types of apples are very delicious, with a nearly perfect looking shape and are very eye-catching

Mutsu apples are traded at VND360.000 per kilo.

Sekaiichi apples are mostly sought by customers due to its high prices and large sizes

Average weight of a Sekaiichi apple seats comfortably between 500 grams and 700 grams.

These giant apples are much bigger than other imported ones and are bought by many customers to put on the ancestral altar during Tet holiday
