VCN- Import and export turnover in the beginning of 2018 has increased sharply with a double digit growth with the contribution from 4 large import and export commodities with a turnover of VND 1 billion or more only after the the first half of January (import and export turnover of computer group reaching US $ 1 billion or more ).

In "US $ billion" import and export commodity groups, the computer item contributes both in imports and exports.

For exports, the turnover by 3 commodity groups have reached US $ 1 billion or more, adding to 2 groups compared to the same period in 2017.

The turnover of two new commodity groups reach US $ billion, including textiles of nearly US $ 1.108 billion; computer, electronic products and parts, US $ 1.071 billion.

The last commodity group with a US$ billion turnover is mobile phones and components with the leading turnover of US$ 2.11 billion.

For imports, the turnover of 2 commodity groups worth US$ 1 billion are computers, electronic products and parts thereof with a turnover of US$ 1.866 billion; machinery, equipment and parts thereof with a turnover of US$1.382 billion. With the strong growth of the computer group, the leading place in import activity has been reversed between the two commodity groups.

Notably, computers, electronic products and parts is in the commodity groups with import and export turnover of US$ billion.

With a turnover of US$ 7.537 billion, commodities with a turnover of US$ 1 billion accounts 40% of the country’s total import and export turnover in the first half of January 2018.
