Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has publicized 1,258 enterprises delaying in tax debt payment

Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has publicized the list of enterprises owing tax debt phase 2 in 2018. Accordingly, there are 1,258 enterprises owing tax debts with total amount of VND 1,556.2 billion (as of 31st May 2018).
Over 30 enterprises of 1,258 enterprises owing tax debts publicized by Ho Chi Minh Tax Department in this phase have owed tax debts of over VND 10 billion. Lo Hoi Trading Co., Ltd has topped the list with total tax debt of VND 105.3 billion; followed by Minh Hoang Garment Joint Stock Company with tax debts of VND 70.7 billion; Lam Vien Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company with tax debts of VND 65 billion; Phu Son Footwear Manufacturing Co., Ltd with tax debts of VND 37 billion.
Notably, some large real estate companies have also been publicized in the list of tax debts, such as: Diep Bach Duong Real Estate Co., Ltd owes debts of VND 33.9 billion; Thanh Nien Joint Stock Company owes debts of VND 33.1 billion; Khang Thong Group Joint Stock Company owes debts of VND 13.5 billion; Duc Hanh Transportation Construction Co., Ltd owes debts of VND 11 billion.
According to Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, although the Department has continuously taken measures to collect tax debt, these enterprises have still delayed in paying tax debts.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Tam, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department said that in order to collect these tax debts, the Department will apply coercive measures, including measures to block bank accounts for deduction to budget remittances; To prevent the use of invoices and propose the competent authorities to revoke the business licenses.
As of June 30 2018, Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department collected VND 3,336 billion from enterprises owing tax debts in 2017, reaching 44% of recoverable debts in 2017. Of which, 1,935 billion was collected by management measures and 1,401 billion was collected by coercive measures.
