According to statistics released by the General Department of Customs, in November, Bac Ninh's export turnover reached nearly US$4.3 billion, although it decreased by more than US$400 million compared to the previous month, it continued to lead Vietnam
This is the 5th consecutive month (from July), Bac Ninh has achieved this position and November is also the fourth consecutive month (from August) the export of Kinh Bac land has reached a scale of US$4 billion or more.
Meanwhile, exports of Ho Chi Minh City haven’t been regaining the leading position yet but showed remarkable signs of recovery with a turnover of nearly US$4.1 billion in November, an increase of nearly US$700 million compared to the previous month.
By the end of 11 months, both Bac Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City achieved an import-export turnover of more than US$40 billion. Of which, Bac Ninh is in first place with US$40.63 billion, Ho Chi Minh City is next with US$40.1 billion.
Thus, the two localities alone accounted for 26.76% of the total export turnover of Vietnam in the same period.
Export turnover of Bac Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City also far exceeded other localities when Binh Duong ranked 3rd with only US$29.4 billion.
With the small difference and the strong recovery of Ho Chi Minh City, December is considered a sprint to determine the locality that holds the No. 1 position in Vietnam's exports in 2021.
In addition to the three localities mentioned above, by the end of November, there are five provinces and cities with export turnover of US$10 billion or more, including Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Dong Nai, Hanoi, and Bac Giang.
By the end of November, Vietnam's total export turnover reached US$301.73 billion, up 18.3%, equivalent to an increase of US$46.76 billion over the same period last year.
