The imported iron and steel products reached $US 406 million, increased by 33.7% over the same period of 2018; The group of machinery and equipment (with tax) reached $US 1,418 million, increased by 33.1% over the same period of 2018.

Along with that, the group of computers and electronic products reached $US 1,691, an increase of 15.1% compared to the same period of 2018. Some other groups also increased from 4% to 10% over the same period in 2018.

However, with 0 USD in the first 2 months of 2019 for petrol, this was a sharp decrease compared to the same period in 2018 which reached $US 28.6 million. In particular, the diesel item reached $US 158 million, reduced by 42.9% over the same period in 2018.

The reason is that domestic enterprises used petroleum domestically produced from Dung Quat oil refinery. Moreover, the world price of petrol is currently higher than the domestic petrol price, so enterprises also limited imports of this item.
