Hai Phong Customs must collect VND 140 billion per day

This revenue reached 81.16% of estimated target (VND 50,050 billion) and 80.22% of desired target assigned by the General Department of Vietnam Customs (VND 50,640 billion).
In order to achieve the targets for 2018, in the remaining time of the year, Hai Phong Customs Department must collect about VND 10 trillion, equivalent to about VND 140 billion per day.
This revenue is nearly equivalent to the revenue in the first months of the year. In the first months of the year, Hai Phong Customs collected about VND 138 billion per day.
Thus, the accomplishment of estimated target and desired target by Hai Phong Customs Department has many positive signs. Because, the revenue that must be collected in the remaining time is not too different from the revenue obtained in the first months of the year.
On the other hand, at the end of the year, many consumer goods will be imported. Previously, the revenue collected by Hai Phong Customs Department in the last months of the year was higher than that in the beginning of the year and the average revenue of the whole year.
Especially, the automobile import of the country is more prosperous than the first months of the year, in which the two areas that mainly imported this item are Hai Phong Port and Ho Chi Minh City.
In 2018, Hai Phong Customs Department faces a large budget deficit from the impact of commodity policies and commitments in bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements.
Typically, the imported CBU cars were affected by the two factors.
Hai Phong Customs handled and recovered VND 236 billion of tax debts VCN – According to the latest information from Hai Phong Customs Department, by the end of July, ... |
For the commodity policies, currently, commercial cars are mainly imported from Thailand and Indonesia. However, cars imported from Thailand and Indonesia are subject to 0% tax rate from 1st January 2018 under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA), so the revenue from this item significantly decreased.
In addition, enterprises imported many pick-up trucks with tax rate of 0% and the revenue from the Special Consumption Tax is also low, thus revenue from automobile item is not high as before.
In 2017, Hai Phong Customs Department collected VND 53,018 billion, contributing over 17.9% to the total revenue of the Customs sector.
