Exports in first 2 months reach high record ever

Notably, the export turnover achieved in the first two months of 2024 is also the highest figure ever in the same period so far.

In the last 10 years (2015-2024), there were only 2 years when export turnover reached more than US$50 billion in the first two months. The first two month of 2022 recorded US$55.24 billion in exports.

Two years had a trade turnover of more than US$40 billion (2023 reached US$49.76 billion and in 2021 reached US$48.82 billion); the remaining years reached over US$20 billion to under 40 US$ billion.

In terms of growth turnover, 2024 sees the highest turnover ever (an increase of US$9.45 billion year-on-year); followed by 2021 with an increase of US$9.43 billion; 2018 with an increase of US$7.08 billion.

Most recent years have seen positive export growth in the first two months of the year, only 2023 saw a decrease in export growth in the first two month compared to the same period last year (down US$5.48 billion).
