Export turnover of FDI enterprises achieves US$ 258 billion

VCN - According to the latest preliminary statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, at the end of July, the total import-export turnover of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises reached more than US$258 billion, down 13.8% or US$41.44 billion compared with the same period in 2022.

The export turnover of FDI enterprises in the second half of July increased by 21.4% of US$ 2.15 billion to US$ 12.16 billion compared with the first half of the month.

The export turnover of FDI enterprises in the first seven months of the year decreased by 10.4% to US$142.78 billion compared with the same period in the year ago, accounting for 73.1% of the total export turnover of the whole country.

The import turnover of FDI enterprises in the second half of July dropped 9.9% to US$ 8.62 billion compared with the first half.

At the end of July, the import turnover of FDI enterprises fell 17.8% year-on-year to US$ 115.28 billion, accounting for 64.4% of total import turnover.

FDI enterprises’ import and export turnover accounts for a large proportion, so the decline in the trade of these enterprises greatly affects the total turnover of the whole country.

Notably, the major export commodity groups of the country such as computers and phones, the turnover from FDI enterprises accounts for over 98% and 99%.
