Day one: PM Phuc’s visit to Germany in pictures
A welcome ceremony for PM Phuc and other high-ranking Vietnamese officials was solemnly held at Frankfurt Airport.
Those present to welcome the guests were Hessen State Minister for Science and Arts Boris Rhein and other Hessen officials, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Doan Xuan Hung, Consul General in Frankfurt Nguyen Hong Linh and Vietnamese residents in Frankfurt.
The Government leader met with the staff of the Vietnamese Consulate General and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Frankfurt.
Mr Phuc met Rheinland-Pfalz state Deputy Minister-President and Minister for Economic Affairs, Transportation, Agriculture and Viniculture Volker Wissing and leaders of some German businesses like BoehringerIngelheim, BASF, and Hornbach.
The German corporations expressed their interest in doing business in Vietnam.
PM Phuc arrived in Mainz, Rheinland-Pfalz state late July 5.
MrPhuc met Minister-President of Rheinland-Pfalz state Malu Dreyer in Mainz city.
He urged the German parliament to support the establishment of the Germany-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group to further reinforce the friendship and cooperation between the two legislatures, particularly in legislation and supervision.
The PM said he hopes the German parliament will encourage Germany investment in Vietnam in fields of strength such as energy equipment, railway, support industry, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals, transport and tourism infrastructure, bio-technology and food processing.
The Vietnamese delegation led by the PM arrived in Hessen state.
The Government leader met Minister-President of Hessen state Volker Bouffier.
In a meeting with Speaker of the Parliament of Hessen state Norbert Kartmann, the PM appreciated the support of the state’s leaders and parliamentarians in developing relations between Vietnam and Germany in general, and between Vietnam and Hessen state in particular.
MrKartmann said there is a great potential for enterprises of Hessen to invest in Vietnam, revealing that a number of Hessen companies have effectively operated in Vietnam.
PM Phuc, his wife and other Vietnamese officials left Frankfurt for Berlin on the evening of July 5.
