Customs chaired the bust of 30 drug cases
The transnational drug crime situation is still complicated. |
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, last February, illegal trading and transportation of narcotics across the border still took place very complicatedly, focusing mainly through Noi Bai and Tan Son international airports especially, Da Nang with flights departing from European and American countries.
Faced with the above situation, as an advisory and assisting agency for the Permanent Agency of the National Steering Committee 389 and the Steering Committee 389 of the Ministry of Finance, General Department of Vietnam Customs has concretized and implemented key plans and programs in each area to warn and guide localities on anti-smuggling in customs control areas including warning about smuggling of European pearl eels; strengthening drug control on sea routes; strengthen prevention and combat of smuggling and illegal transportation of animals, animal products, livestock breeds and aquatic products across borders.
As a result of the fight against drugs, in February, the Customs sector chaired and coordinated with the Police and Border Defence forces to detect and seize 29 cases and 12 subjects (of which Customs agency presided over 23 cases), confiscated evidence included: 9.7 kg of marijuana; 3.15 kg of heroin; 30.4 kg ketamine; 119.43 kg of synthetic drugs.
In the first 2 months of the year, the Customs sector chaired and coordinated with the Police and Border Defence forces to detect and arrest 67 cases and 61 subjects (of which the Customs authority presided over 30 cases), evidence collected included: 11.35 kg of marijuana; 17.8 kg of heroin; 43 kg and 900 ketamine tablets; 145.89 kg...
