Creating a “special priority” flow for vehicles transporting essentials

VCN - The Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed creating a "special priority" flow for means of transport of essential goods to serve for the programme of stabilise the supply market for HCM City and the southern provinces affected by the pandemic that is applying social distancing.

To ensure the supply of essential goods for HCM City and the southern provinces experiencing complex developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade sent a dispatch to request People's Committees of the provinces to direct local units for implementing a number of tasks.

Specifically, focusing on promoting the assurance of essential goods to supply for HCM City and the southern provinces that are experiencing complicated pandemic and having to apply social distancing and isolation measures, especially supply of goods for the market stabilisation programme was signed.

At the same time, creating a "special priority" flow for vehicles transporting essential goods to serve for market stabilisation programme and supply to HCM City and southern provinces with the pandemic that are applying social distancing.

Coordinating with professional transport units (like Viettel Post and VN Post) to deploy and creating favourable conditions for the transportation and circulation of essential goods to supply to ​​HCM City and other southern provinces.

Along with that, working with HCM City, to establish gathering and transshipment points for essential goods with disease safety control to replace wholesale markets and transit points that have been closed to ensure supply goods in time to people in areas of HCM City and neighboring provinces.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade also suggested localities work with local market management forces, strengthen inspection and control of the market, fight hoarding, price increase, and selling of poor quality goods.

On July 8, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) also issued official letter No. 687/TMĐT-TTCNS to e-commerce platforms about organising to ensure the supply of essential goods such as: prioritising the display of agricultural products, food, necessities on e-commerce platforms and connecting with credible manufacturers, distribution firms and retail businesses to quickly ensure supply.

On July 8, major e-commerce platforms have also implemented preferential programmes on shipping and orders for essential items, facilitating shopping for people in HCM City and southern provinces on online channels.

Specifically, the programme of "Shopping at home" or "Vietnamese Agricultural Products Week" of the Sendo e-commerce platform; or “Online shopping” for fresh foods from the Tiki e-commerce platform; ShopeeFarm's fresh agricultural products or other essentials and foods from Voso, Postmart and Lazada.
