Conclusion for investigation case of imported plated steel

VCN - The Vietnam Competition Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade) has completed the investigation process of applying anti-dumping measures on imported steel products. They also sent the final draft of the case to the stakeholders.

On 3rd March 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 818/QD-BCT on investigating the application of anti-dumping measures for imported steel products originating from the People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong), and South Korea (case code AD02).

Based on Article 16 of the Vietnam Anti-Dumping Ordinance, the limit time for investigation of the application of anti-dumping measures shall not exceed 12 months from the date of issuance of the investigation decision. On 3rd March 2017, the Investigating agency (Vietnam Competition Authority) completed the investigation of case AD02 and sent the final draft of the case to the relevant parties.

The parties involved in the above case AD02 have registered as parties involved in the case but have not received the final draft of the findings of the investigation, they should contact the officer in charge of the case in order to ensure their rights and benefits. They should contact at the following address: Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (25 Ngo Quyen Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, Vietnam), Tel: (+84 4) 2220 5018.

The agency also noted that if the stakeholders want to comment on the contents of the final conclusion, they should send written comments to the Vietnam Competition Authority before 5PM on 10th March 2017.

Earlier, during the investigation on 1st September 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade applied provisional anti-dumping measures of imported plated steel products.

Accordingly, the provisional anti-dumping duty for plated steel products, originating from China (including Hong Kong), and Korea ranges from 4% -38.34%.

Many companies are applied high tariffs such as BX Steel Posco Cold Rolled Sheet (38.34%), Begang Steel (34.77%), Wuhan Iron & Steel Company (25.63%), China's export companies are also charged at 38.34%.
