According to the latest statistics of the General Department of Customs, from the beginning of the year to October 15, the country had seven export commodity groups of US$10 billion or more, adding one group year-on-year.
The new product group is means of transport and spare parts with a turnover of US$10.77 billion, up 12.2% year-on-year.
The remaining six "tens of billions of dollars" groups include: computers, electronic products and components; phones and components; machinery, equipment, tools, spare parts; textile; footwear; wood and wood products.
Although these groups still maintain a turnover of "tens of billions of dollars" like the same period last year, the turnover of all six groups decreased compared to 2022.
The sharpest decline was in phones and components with a turnover of only US$41.47 billion, down US$6.23 billion year-on-year. Because of this decline, phones and components have lost the number one position in exports of the group of computers, electronic products and components.
By October 15, export turnover of computers, electronic products and components reached US$43.61 billion, a slight decrease of nearly US$200 million. This is the group had the smallest decrease among six groups, the remaining five groups all lost billions of dollars /group.
The main export markets of the above products are the United States, EU, China, Korea, and Japan and ASEAN.
