The tax sector has deployed many IT applications to support taxpayer in tax declaration, e-tax payment, helping to reduce cost of implementing tax administrative procedures.

To increase the benefits of electronic tax administration transactions and promptly solve problems in the process of implementing tax administrative procedures, the General Department of Taxation has built an information channel to support taxpayers through the e-Tax system in the whole country and officially put it into operation on October 6.

"Previously, to carry out tax procedures, taxpayers had to access many different addresses. After implementing the system, taxpayers only need to access one address to be able to do all procedures such as tax registration, tax declaration, tax payment and tax refund. The system of 479 information channels to support taxpayers has been set up from the General Department of Taxation to 63 tax departments and 415 tax branches to serve taxpayers," Minh shared.

On the significance of this system of support channels, Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Director of the Propaganda and Taxpayer Service Department, General Department of Taxation, said in the past, when there were problems, taxpayers had to go to the single window division of tax authorities and directly work with tax officials. However, with the new support system, taxpayers only need to access this system and their questions and inquiries would be sent online to the tax authority's support division. When necessary, those problems would be fully supported by the General Department of Taxation.

According to the General Department of Taxation, each support channel would have to perform the task of disseminating and guiding taxpayers to carry out procedures at the website of supporting electronic tax procedures; receiving and answering questions of taxpayers in their management area via electronic transaction channels; operating, monitoring and evaluating the receipt and settlement of tax administrative procedures through the website for supporting electronic tax procedures.

"With the deployment of a system of 479 information channels to support taxpayers, the General Department of Taxation hoped to bring many benefits to taxpayers, facilitating access of information about tax policies and regulations of tax management, as well as easily carry out tax procedures anytime, anywhere, reducing compliance costs of taxpayers, facilitate to focusing resources on business activities of taxpayers," Minh said.
