Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria is on a State visit to Vietnam from November 8-9 at the invitation of President Tran Dai Quang.

On the morning of November 9, President Tran Dai Quang hosted a welcoming ceremony for his Chilean counterpart Michelle Bachelet Jeria.

The two presidents hold talks immediately after the welcoming ceremony.

Vietnam and Chile established diplomatic relations in March, 1971. The friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations have grown steadily across a variety of fields.

During the State visit to Vietnam by the Chilean President, leaders from the two countries will discuss orientations and measures to further strengthen the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, especially in economics, trade, culture, science-technology and tourism so as to develop the Vietnam-Chile comprehensive partnership in a substantial and effective fashion.
