Vietnam, RoK share experience in combating COVID-19
The agreement was reached during a phone call between Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and RoK President Moon Jae-in on April 3.
PM Phuc informed the RoK President about Vietnam’s drastic measures against the COVID-19 and positive results achieved with no deaths reported so far.

PM Phuc highly valued measures the RoK government has adopted to control the epidemic and wanted to learn from its experience. He also proposed that the RoK government provide assistance for the Vietnamese community affected by the COVID-19 in the country to help them stabilise their lives.
For his part, President Moon Jae-in spoke highly of Vietnam’s disease control efforts which have won international recognition. He assured the Vietnamese PM that the RoK is willing to exchange experience and at the same time coordinate with Vietnam in disease prevention and control, as well as in citizen protection.
He thanked the Government of Vietnam for supporting RoK citizens and enterprises doing business in Vietnam.
The two leaders emphasized the need to strengthen international cooperation on pandemic prevention and control.
Prime Minister Phuc affirmed that as the ASEAN 2020 Chair, Vietnam has been hosting discussions aimed at strengthening COVID-19 prevention and control coordination among ASEAN countries and between ASEAN and its partner countries, including China, Japan and the RoK under the ASEAN+3 mechanism.
President Moon voiced his support for Vietnam’s initiatives and said as the coordinator of the ASEAN+3 mechanism, the RoK will work closely with Vietnam to successfully promote ASEAN's dialogue and cooperation mechanisms, including ASEAN-Korea and ASEAN+3.
Regarding Vietnam-RoK cooperation, the two leaders also agreed to strengthen bilateral relations, including maintaining the exchange of high-level delegations and boosting cooperation in various areas in the post-COVID-19 period.
