Vietlott awards a Jackpot prize of 70 billion vnd

VCN- On the afternoon of 12th December 2016, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Lottery Company  (Vietlott) held a ceremony to award the Jackpot - Mega 6/45 prize of the 61st dialing period of 7th December 2016. The Jackpot of 69,582,180,000 vnd was awarded to a customer living in Ho Chi Minh City.

Earlier, the owner of the lottery ticket who had the numbers coinciding with the Jackpot Mega 6/45 winning number of the 61st dialing period of 7th December 2016 (13-23-27-28-32-45) came to the Branch of Vietlott in Ho Chi Minh City to claim a prize. Through verification of attached documents in the system, Vietlott confirmed that this ticket was valid. The Jackpot winning ticket, which was worth 69,582,180,000 vnd (not deductible from personal income tax under the provisions of the Law) was released at an agent in Ward 15, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City.

This has been the sixth time that Vietlott awarded the prize of Jackpot - Mega 6/45. At the request of the winner, in order to ensure confidentiality, Vietlott only disclosed the abbreviated name, general place of residence and pictures of the winner wearing a mask. To ensure the presence of stakeholders for the award, in addition to representatives of Vietlott, in the ceremony, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - the Deputy Director and the representative of the Office of the Ministry of Finance in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Lanh – the representative of the Security, Finance, Monetary and Investment Department under the Ministry of Public Security; Mr. Le Dinh Tu, the Deputy Director General of Deloitte Vietnam; Ms. Jossephine Yei Pheck Joo – the representative of Berjaya Coporation; the sales representative and the winner.

At the ceremony, the Deputy Director General of Vietlott, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam congratulated Mr. H.V.T. on the lottery prize of the Jackpot - Mega 6/45 prize of the 61st dialing period of 7th December 2016. According to State regulations, Mr. H.V.T. was obliged to pay personal income tax of 6,957,218,000 vnd to the State budget. Mr. H.V.T. received 62,624,962,000 VND vnd through bank transfer.

"Mr. H.V.T. bought lottery tickets at a point of sale in Ward 15, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City, which showed that the Vietlott distribution system gradually met the needs of people with modern products. Mr. H.V.T. who resided in Ho Chi Minh City winning the Jackpot Mega 6/45 prize of the 61st dialing period of 7th December 2016 showed that Vietlott became familiar with the players, and the results of lottery winning were completely random. It means that the chance to win the lottery is equal for any player, whether the number of lottery ticket is chosen by players or by machines. Vietlott hopes that the winner will use the lottery prize reasonably and effectively", the Deputy Director General of Vietlott, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam said.

Witnessing the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Lanh, the representative of the Security, Finance, Monetary and Investment Department under the Ministry of Public Security said: Through the observation of Vietlott’s award ceremony, I confirm that the ceremony is completely public and transparent, with a close supervision of stakeholders; The Deloitte Vietnam has announced that the results of Jackpot - Mega 6/45 of 30th November 2016 openly, transparently and fully in accordance with legal regulations.

Until now, this kind of lottery has been sold in 12 provinces and cities, contributing to diversification of the market, and creating more choices for players. The trust of players in the lottery of Vietlott derives from the service system operated by a State-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Finance and 100% revenues from lottery will be allocated to localities for investment in the health sector, education and social welfare.
