According to the General Department of Taxation, recently the press has reported that for a car to legally drive on the road, in addition to the prescribed fees, people have to spend a small amount of money on unnamed fees. Immediately after that, the General Department of Taxation requested the Hanoi Tax Department to review and clarify the above information, especially the information related to the implementation of tax obligations.

As reported by the Hanoi Tax Department, the "single window" section of Dong Anh Tax Branch is responsible for receiving tax administrative applications and procedures submitted directly by taxpayers at the tax office, including: application for registration fee payment for cars and motorbikes, applications for financial obligations on land, and other procedures.

The "single window" sectionis installed with two surveillance cameras that directly transmit the images to the administrative unit and the leaders of the Tax Branch for supervision. All administrative procedures, especially the processing of applications for registration fee payment for cars and motorbikes are conducted quickly and accurately.

This Tax Branch affirmed that there is no phenomenon of causing difficulties, wheedling and grease in the handling of tax administrative procedures. Moreover, when checking the recorded camera data, there are no abnormal signs or money changing hands between taxpayers and tax officials.

Regarding the registration fee declaration and payment procedures, over the past years, the tax sector has strongly launched projects of information technology application in tax collection and payment in order to reform administrative procedures and reduce time and costs and provide maximum convenience to businesses.

In 2020, the General Department of Taxation integrated 120 tax-related administrative procedures on the national public service portal, reaching 130% of the assigned plan. Thereby, it created the best conditions for people and businesses to fulfill tax obligations to the state budget.

The General Department of Taxation expects that people and businesses will enhance the implementation of administrative procedures on the National Public Service Portal, thereby reducing time and costs in the fulfillment of tax obligations with the state budget and minimizing unnecessary contact with tax officials, contributing to improving transparency in the process of public services.

Along with the promotion of administrative procedure reform, the tax sector has strengthened coordination with local authorities and police agencies to inspect and control in order to prevent negative acts at the tax office, especially the implementation of procedures related to real estate, car and motorbike registration.
