Tax authority cancels VND1,470 billion of tax debts and late payment fees

In the first half of 2021, the Tax sector has settled dossiers of tax payment extension, debt cancellation, gradual tax payment, and failed to take late payment interest into account in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Tax administration, Decree 126/2020/ND-CP, the General Department of Taxation reported.
Tax authorities issued 7,091 decisions on charge-off for 65,495 tax payers with a total amount of VND2,172 billion.
They also issued 629 decisions on debt cancellation and late payment for 57,752 tax payers with a total amount of VND1,470 billion.
So far this year, the sector will strengthen the tax debt settlement in line with the provisions of Resolution No. 94/2019 of the National Assembly and Circular No.69/2020 of the Ministry of Finance.
